Lanka IOC, the Sri Lankan subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, plays a critical role in the nation’s energy infrastructure—managing fuel distribution, public-sector partnerships, and consumer-facing services across the island. As a national leader in the petroleum sector, their digital footprint needed to reflect both their scale and strategic importance. When they approached us, there was no existing website—no digital foundation at all. Everything from the frontend to backend infrastructure needed to be built from the ground up.
They didn’t just need a website—they needed a comprehensive enterprise platform: one that could manage tenders, streamline internal reporting, and act as a central hub for both the public and their wide network of stakeholders.
Co-Creating With a National Brand
We began our partnership with Lanka IOC by leading a multi-day discovery and design sprint, involving senior stakeholders from both the company and partner banks. This wasn’t a project for off-the-shelf templates—every feature had to be shaped around the real operational needs of a national fuel provider.
We mapped out:
- A content-heavy, multilingual corporate website
- A robust Tender Management System
- A custom-built web application for tracking fuel sales across their client sheds nationwide
Throughout this process, we emphasized deep user research and UX-first planning. Our design team delivered high-fidelity wireframes tailored to each module’s function—ensuring clarity for both administrators and everyday users.
Three Solutions, One Seamless Experience
- Corporate Website
We developed a fully customized, multilingual WordPress website using Tailwind CSS. The platform highlights Lanka IOC’s services, partnerships, sustainability practices, and real-time updates. It includes custom modules for managing announcements, career listings, and compliance documents. Performance and security were non-negotiable: the site is SEO-optimized, mobile responsive, and compliant with enterprise-level security and accessibility standards. - Tender Management System
Built to reflect their public-sector engagement, this secure system allows Lanka IOC to publish and manage tenders—streamlining how they invite bids, store documents, and maintain transparency with vendors. The backend is clean, logical, and easy to use for internal teams, while the frontend is intuitive for third-party users accessing opportunities. - Fuel Sales Tracking Application
Perhaps the most technically intensive part of our engagement, this custom web app allows Lanka IOC to track daily fuel sales from client sheds across the island. Working closely with their operational teams and partner banks, we mapped key workflows and implemented data dashboards for real-time monitoring. The application is built on a secure, scalable architecture and integrates easily into internal reporting workflows.
The UI was designed to be simple and fast, even on low-bandwidth networks, while still meeting the needs of staff across a range of technical skill levels.
Built for Scale, Delivered With Support
Beyond development, we continue to provide priority post-launch support, covering everything from content management to security audits and uptime monitoring. Our focus has been long-term partnership, not one-off delivery. Lanka IOC now has a centralized digital infrastructure that supports both internal efficiency and public engagement.
Their digital transformation didn’t stop at “going live”—it became a strategic tool to support growth, compliance, and service delivery at scale.
Results at a Glance:
- 3 fully integrated platforms built from scratch
- Multilingual, enterprise-grade WordPress CMS tailored for content autonomy
- Custom dashboard app for daily sales tracking across Sri Lanka
- Secure Tender Management System supporting vendor transparency
- Responsive UI/UX developed through collaborative workshops and wireframe testing
- Ongoing support for security, performance, and updates
